Remote Desktop & WallCooler
You might want to access a computer on the remote network through a Remote Screen (giving you mouse and keyboard control over the remote computer while showing you everything that's happening on the screen).

This is easy and completely integrated in Windows, once WallCooler connects you to the remote network, you can use Windows Remote Desktop to access virtualy any computer on the remote network.

The best way to access remote computer screen is through the integrated Remote Desktop Tool
>> Goto Remote Desktop Tool overview

This section focuses on enabling & configuring Windows Remote Desktop on your computers.
You should refer to it if you have trouble using the WallCooler RemoteDesktop Tool probably because you need to do a bit of configuration first).

WallCooler will work with any Remote Control software (VNC, RAdmin, PCAnywhere...).
So if you are familiar with another Remote Control tool, just use it normally as if you were on the remote network.
Once WallCooler is connnected, you will be able to connect to any computer on the remote network.
Setup Remote Desktop Connection (Windows XP)
Here is what you need to do:
1. Enable Remote Desktop on the Remote Computer:

If you connect from Home to your Office, then it is more than likely it has already been set-up.
But if you are connecting to your Home computer from outside using WallCooler, then you will have to enable Remote Desktop on your Home computer.

>> Windows Help: Set Up Your Computer for Remote Desktop.

Remote Desktop is supported by Windows 2000, XP and Vista, so they all can connect to a remote computer.
But only Windows XP Pro (and Vista) allows a computer to be a host (to accept connection).
2. Connect to a computer on the Remote Network:

Once you are connected to the remote network with WallCooler, then you use Remote Desktop to access any computer on the remote network where Remote Desktop has been configured.
All you need is:

  • The computer name, its DNS name or its IP Address
  • Valid credentials to access the remote computer (login & password)

>> Windows Help: Connect your remote computer to the host computer.

Microsoft Remote Desktop Client is not always installed by default on some version of windows 2000 & XP.
You will then have to install it (very easy, just follow one of the links below).
>> (XP) Install Remote Desktop Communications Client
>> (2000 & earlier) Get Remote Desktop Client from Microsoft WebSite
