Set-up WallCooler Enterprise

Typical Configuration

The schema above describes a typical use of WallCooler Enterprise services.
So let us consider a business with a main office and different types of remote users:
  • Sales/Consultant: access the office from a customer site
  • Home-worker: access the office network from home
  • Mobile Employee: needs office access from a laptop on any public Internet connection
Any of these users need full access to the office network (access their PC, print a document, shared drives, intranet, database applications...)

Configuration Steps

 1. Register and Add Enterprise Services
 2. Install & Sign-in WallCooler in the Office
 3. Configure WallCooler Enterprise
 4. Register Additional Users with Standard Accounts
 5. Configure User Permissions
 6. Install & Connect from User Computers

Say for instance that you created an account named wallcooler@mycompany.com

Second, add Enterprise Services to your account:
 » Purchase Enterprise Services

Only one Enterprise account is required, all users will connect with Standard accounts.

Enterprise Services start at 5 users and go up to 50+

Install WallCooler on any computer in the Office. WallCooler does not need to be anywhere specific on your company LAN as
long as it has access to the Internet.

The computer running WallCooler in the office will act as your VPN server and automatically accept connections from remote users.

Download WallCooler (download page), run the installer and follow the installation instructions.
You might be asked to restart your computer after the installation is completed.

Sign-in with your WallCooler Enterprise Services login.
Step3: Configure WallCooler Enterprise

Assign a name and an icon to your office network (optional).
Once you authorize Standard users to connect to the WallCooler in the office, the network name and icon will be listed in their 'Available Network' list.
If you leave the name empty, the name of the computer running WallCooler Enterprise Services will appear instead.

To follow our example, you will need 3 users:

  • Sales/Consultant: john@mycompany.com

My Users Config

Setting users permissions is centralized in the Manage User Permissions panel. You can control who has access to your network by
Adding/Removing users and configure remote users' accesses by assigning permission roles.

In our example, we will add the 3 users created in step 4:
  • john@mycompany.com
  • barack@mycompany.com
  • hillary@mycompany.com

Click on My Users on the left panel to display the user configuration panel on the right.
  • Click "Add..."
  • Enter the user login (WallCooler Standard account created in step 4) & select the permission level
  • Click OK
Add user to your WallCooler VPN
Permission levels define each user' access to the network.
You can either use one of the predefined levels or customize you own.

Once all users have been added and configured, click Apply to save your changes. All changes are immediately activated.
